The first time you enter the casino you’ll get a little bit more of an explanation as to what they meant by standard and promotional play mode.

To get some answers I clicked on “find out more” and was directed to a very boring-looking document called “Chumba Casino Sweeps Rules”. There I discovered that they now mention that residents of Idaho are not “Eligible Participants”. They are called “Participants”.

Additionally, participants play purely for “entertainment and enjoyment”. Alternately, eligible participants can get “sweepstakes entries” which are referred to as “sweeps coins” that can be used to win more sweeps coins or redeemed for real prizes.

• Participants: Players can play in standard mode with gold coins for entertainment purposes.
• Eligible Participants: Players can play in promotional mode with sweeps coins. which can be redeemed for real prizes.

Ok, good, now we’re getting closer to the crux of the site. You can play with gold coins for fun. Or you can play with sweeps coins to get real prizes. 

How To Get Sweeps Coins

The sweeps rules clarify that there are four ways to get those valuable sweeps coins. Of these four methods, only one of them is guaranteed and 100% free.

1. Get sweeps coins as a bonus when you buy gold coins.
2. Win sweeps coins in free Facebook contests.
3. Claim free sweeps coins once a day when you log into your account.
4. Get 5 free sweeps coins by mailing a letter with a request card.

If you read the rules, you will also discover that sweeps coins expire if you do not log in for 60 days. If you’ve registered via an email address, you want to go to Facebook anyway to check out the contests and possibly win some sweeps coins.

The Games

At long last, I got a glimpse of all the games that I was promised. Now it was time to play! In the introduction, it said that there were over 100 games. But it also said there were hundreds of games.

Certainly more than 100 games, but not hundreds of games as advertised. Maybe I would discover some more games hidden away.

Summary

For a free game site with the promise of “real prizes” I was more than satisfied with the selection of games. But there was certainly more to find out about Chumbra. For instance, how much do those fake gold coins cost, how many gold coins do the games require, what is the sweeps bonus amount, what will I get tomorrow for a daily bonus sweep coin and most importantly what are those real prizes?
